Scholarships and Research Funds
Any person or group may start an endowed scholarship or research grant with a pledge of $20,000 or more to be paid over a period of five years. This is considered sponsorship of a fund. Fund patrons and sponsors may determine the criteria for choosing the recipient and may specify which university programs the student may attend. Interest earned from the donations is used to fund the scholarship or research grant. A simple one-page contract is generally all that is required. Until a fund becomes self-supporting, the Foundation will supplement the interest earned so that awards can be made annually.
Amount of scholarships and research grants -The grants range from $500 upward, depending upon the amount of money donated to each scholarship or research fund.
Educational Programs - TSHF hosts the annual Mauzy Leadership Conference, a two-day seminar featuring speakers on topics relating to the fields of speech-language pathology and audiology. Speech-language pathologists, audiologists, students, and professionals from related fields are invited to attend. Financial support for the Mauzy Leadership Conference is provided by the Oscar Mauzy Education Program Endowment Fund. The Pat Cole Education Program Fund also provides funding for TSHF-sponsored speakers making presentations at the annual convention of the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association or other major meetings.
Contributing to scholarships, research grants, educational programs, or the capital fund - Anyone can contribute any amount to an established fund, either through a one-time gift, or a pledge of a larger amount to be paid over a number of years. Contributing to TSHF is a wonderful way to honor colleagues, friends, family members, or to memorialize a loved one.
Presentation of Fund Awards - Scholarships and research grants are awarded during the Annual Awards Dinner at the annual state convention of the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association. At that time new Fellows, Sponsors, and Patrons are also recognized.

Certificates of recognition and pins are given to those who pledge donations in the following amounts:
