    Research Grants

    Recipients of all Research Grants are selected by the Research Committee of the Foundation.

    Tina E. Bangs Research Endowment Fund – Established by Tina Bangs in 1992 to support research in an education setting.

    Lear Ashmore Research Endowment Fund – Established in 1992, this general Research Fund of the Foundation was named to honor Lear Ashmore.

    President’s Research Endowment Fund – Established in 1993 by ten Past Presidents of the Texas Speech Language Hearing Association, the fund has been added to by additional Past Presidents

    Sandy Friel-Patti Research in Language International Travel Fund – Established in 2004 by the family and friends of Dr. Sandy Friel-Patti, Past President of TSHA and of the Foundation. Supports travel to present doctoral research in language in an international venue. Download the SFP-Call-for-Applications

    Elisabeth Wiig Doctoral Student Research Fund – Established in 2014 for the advancement of research by speech-language pathology doctoral students who exceed expectations in scholarship, and who advance the field of speech-language pathology regarding these categories, in this order of selection: (1) teenagers, adolescents, or adults, or (2) childhood language disorders.
