    Research Grants Application

    Tina E. Bangs Research Endowment Fund – Awards grants (approximately $1000) to qualified persons to conduct empirical, clinical or educational research to expand the knowledge base of the professions and/or improve the delivery of services to children and adults with speech, language and hearing disorders.

    Lear Ashmore Research Endowment Fund – Supports grants (approximately $1600) to qualified persons to conduct empirical, clinical or educational research to expand the knowledge base of the professions and/or improve delivery of services to children and adults with speech, language and hearing disorders.

    President’s Research Endowment Fund – Supports grants (approximately $1300) to qualified persons to conduct empirical, clinical or educational research to expand the knowledge base of the professions and/or improve delivery of services to children and adults with speech, language and hearing disorders.

    Sandy Friel-Patti Research in Language International Travel Fund – Awards $2000+.  Advances the work of researchers in the field of language and supports travel to present doctoral research in language to an international venue. 

    This award is available to applicants who are full time doctoral students in speech/language pathology, postdoctoral fellows in residence full-time, or assistant professors at an ASHA accredited Speech Language Disorder of Speech Language Science program at a college or university located in the State of Texas at the time of submission.  Distributions of these funds are made for the purpose of supporting travel to international meetings, including those held in Canada and Mexico, to present papers in the field of Language Research. Research papers must be accepted through peer review and presented by the individual presenter submitting for funding through this Endowment Fund. Persons applying for this funding should submit to the Foundation the paper that has or will be submitted for presentation, and the international venue where the paper will be presented. Acceptance is not a requirement of applying for funding, but funds will only be granted once the paper has been accepted. The cost of travel, registration and all other costs needed to attend the proposed international conference and present this research will determine the amount of the award.

    Elisabeth Wiig Doctoral Student Research Fund – Supports doctoral students ($1400+) in Texas conducting research in language disorders across the lifespan.
